JSPS fellowships for international researchers

Our laboratory welcomes prospective applicants for JSPS fellowship programs that support international researchers
to conduct research in Japan (Kyushu University as the host institution).
In these programs, the application is submitted by the host researcher/institution in Japan, so please contact us well in advance.

  • Who can apply with us: Researchers who plan to come to Japan under a JSPS fellowship (e.g., JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan / JSPS International Research Fellow).
  • How to start: Send us (1) your CV, (2) a brief research proposal (1–2 pages), and (3) your preferred start period and fellowship scheme via the contact form.
After an initial document-based screening, selected candidates may be invited for an online interview.
  • Important note on deadlines: JSPS calls are typically announced on a fixed annual schedule, and the internal deadline at Kyushu University is often earlier than the JSPS deadline. Please plan to contact us at least 2–3 months before the JSPS deadline.

Official information (application schedule and guidelines) is available on the JSPS website:
